Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel-Jackson is seeking a Melt Shop Maintenance Mechanic who will promote safety as our #1 value while ensuring consistency and reliability in Melt Shop operations. The Maintenance Mechanic will be part of the team responsible for the maintenance, reliability, improvement, and upgrades of equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic will work closely with the production teams and other members of the maintenance team and shall be capable of covering maintenance issues on shift and/or days as a mechanic. Coordinate with operations, maintenance supervisor, and other departments to schedule maintenance activities. Be willing to take the necessary training to stay up to date with the EBS software. Be willing to work more than scheduled time, weekends, and holidays if needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

2 Years experience in Steel Mill Maintenance Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledgeable in pipe fitting, coupling alignment, pneumatics, hudraulics, welding, machine tool Certification in Insdustrial Maintenance Certification in Welding Computer Skills Demonstrate Leadership abilities Nucor is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplace
