Job Summary We are seeking a motivated Dock and Door Installation and Repair Technician to join our dynamic team. This energetic role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of doors and dock equipment at commercial sites. The ideal candidate will bring mechanical expertise, construction experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service to ensure our clients' facilities operate efficiently and safely. Duties Install, repair, and maintain a wide range of doors including sectional, overhead, rolling steel, and specialty doors using hand tools and power tools. Perform glass installation and repair for storefronts or door panels with precision and care. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and building codes to ensure proper installation standards are met. Conduct welding, fabrication, caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, cabinet installation, and metal stud framing as needed for custom projects. Use electrical knowledge to troubleshoot electrical components of door systems and perform electrical work safely on-site. Engage in heavy lifting and physical tasks required for construction site work while adhering to safety protocols. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about project timelines, procedures, and maintenance needs. Experience Proven construction site experience with a focus on door installation or repair. Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques. Familiarity with blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, building code compliance, and metal framing. Previous experience in remodeling or handyman roles involving carpentry or fixture installation is highly valued. Electrical experience related to door systems or general electrical work is preferred. Ability to lift heavy materials regularly while maintaining safety standards. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
