Maintenance Technician Job Description / Responsibilities
Primary Function Use various tools and equipment to repair, maintain, and upgrade manufacturing or facility equipment to insure effective operations. Multi-craft responsibilities with emphasis on electrical and preventative maintenance tasks. Key Responsibilities Use various tools and equipment to repair or install manufacturing or facility equipment to insure effective operations. Multi-craft responsibilities with emphasis on electrical. Will be responsible for mechanical and preventative tasks also.
Perform maintenance service or repairs in the following areas; general machine service, electrical and mechanical repair, welding, and HVAC.
Maintain equipment function, perform preventative maintenance, and support production set ups. Ability to understand and follow mechanical and electrical schematics.
Readily use root cause analysis and problem solving skills to diagnose most mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical system failures. Understanding of program logic, complex electrical control systems, and various process controllers.
May assist in design of new equipment or systems.
Train new maintenance technicians when required.
Work with limited supervision in a multi-craft environment.
Fabricate replacement and new parts for manufacturing machinery using machining equipment (Lathes, Mills, etc).
Operate powered industrial trucks.
This position may require annual training on Hazardous Material and Hazardous Waste Handling depending on specific job assignment with the department.
Other duties as assigned.

Good time management and organizational skills
Education & Experience:
High School diploma or GED 5-7 years industrial maintenance experience
Preferred:
Two or Four year Degree
