Job Description
Position Summary The 3rd Shift Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the overnight maintenance team to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This position oversees preventive and corrective maintenance activities, minimizes equipment downtime, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Candidates must have hands-on experience in plastic injection molding or extrusion manufacturing environments . Key Responsibilities Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance technicians during the 3rd shift. Schedule and prioritize preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance activities. Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems. Support production by minimizing downtime and responding quickly to equipment failures. Ensure injection molding and/or extrusion equipment is operating safely and efficiently. Coordinate maintenance activities with production, engineering, and quality departments. Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and equipment documentation using a CMMS. Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards. Monitor inventory of maintenance parts and recommend spare parts purchases. Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment issues. Train team members on maintenance procedures, safety practices, and troubleshooting techniques. Support installation, startup, and continuous improvement projects for new equipment. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or trade certification preferred. Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in injection molding or extrusion manufacturing. At least 2 years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience.
