Overview We are seeking a motivated and versatile Handyman/Laborer to join our maintenance team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and installation tasks across residential and commercial properties. Your expertise will help ensure facilities operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Duties Perform general repairs and maintenance on building interiors, exteriors, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC units, and facilities equipment. Use hand tools and power tools to complete carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical work, welding, and mechanical tasks accurately and safely. Troubleshoot issues using schematics, electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters, and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Maintain and repair plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and drainage to ensure optimal operation. Conduct routine inspections of facilities equipment and systems; perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. Assist with HVAC system repairs including filter replacements, ductwork adjustments, and system troubleshooting. Support customer service efforts by communicating clearly with clients or property managers regarding repairs or ongoing maintenance needs. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in electrical work, plumbing, HVAC systems, welding, and carpentry. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, schematics, electrical equipment repair devices (including ohmmeters), and maintenance painting techniques. Knowledge of facilities maintenance procedures including MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) practices. Ability to read technical schematics and diagrams related to electrical systems and building infrastructure. Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and customer interactions. Leadership qualities with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments. Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus but not required.
