Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The HPP Maintenance Specialist is responsible for maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and facility systems that support Bevara HPP's high‑pressure processing (HPP) tolling operations. This role ensures equipment reliability, uptime, and safety across HPP units, peripheral systems, material‑handling equipment, and building utilities. Bevara HPP operates a controlled, non‑thermal, food‑grade HPP facility. The Maintenance Specialist plays a critical role in supporting food safety, regulatory compliance, and production continuity by executing preventive maintenance programs, responding to equipment issues, and coordinating with operations and external service providers.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Equipment & Systems Maintenance Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HPP equipment and related peripheral systems Maintain pumps, hydraulics, valves, seals, motors, conveyors, and material‑handling systems Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and implement effective repairs Support installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of new equipment Facility Maintenance Maintain building systems including utilities, compressed air, water systems, drainage, and cold‑area infrastructure Conduct routine facility inspections to identify wear, safety concerns, or corrective needs Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized maintenance or repairs as required Preventive Maintenance & Documentation Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) programs Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections Support maintenance log accuracy to meet audit, food safety, and regulatory requirements Food Safety, Safety & Compliance Perform all maintenance activities in compliance with HACCP, GMP, SSOP, and safety programs Follow lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO) and confined‑space procedures as applicable Ensure tools, parts, and work areas are maintained in a clean, food‑grade condition Support SQF, regulatory, or customer audits related to maintenance and facility controls Operational Support Respond promptly to equipment downtime or emergency repair needs Work closely with HPP Line Operators, Packaging Line Operators, and Operations leadership to minimize disruptions Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, safety, and uptimeQUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2-5 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of pumps, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and follow technical manuals, SOPs, and safety procedures
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and work in refrigerated and industrial environments Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food‑grade or regulated manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, or SQF systems
- Experience supporting high‑pressure, process, or automated equipment
- Forklift or lift certification (or ability to obtain)
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is performed in a refrigerated, industrial manufacturing environment
- Regular exposure to cold temperatures, noise, moving machinery, pressurized equipment, and production sanitation activities
- Required to always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) on the production floor, including protective clothing, hair coverings, and food safety gear
- Occasional exposure to cleaning and sanitation chemicals consistent with food manufacturing operations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during production oversight
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and work around industrial equipment
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed
- Visual and auditory ability to observe operations, monitor equipment, and ensure safety, quality, and compliance
