Job Description
Overview The Building Maintenance Technician performs a wide range of general and technical maintenance, repair, and improvement work across Loon Mountain Resort's buildings and facilities. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role that supports all trades within the Building Maintenance and Electrical department — including carpentry, painting, plumbing assist, electrical assist, HVAC support, and preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and committed to maintaining a safe and well-functioning resort environment for guests and team members. Responsibilities Perform general and technical maintenance and repair work across all resort buildings and facilities including carpentry, painting, and structural repairs. Assist the Plumber and Electrician on new installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks as directed. Perform minor plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, heating system, and appliance repairs within the scope of the position. Carry out preventative maintenance tasks as assigned; identify and report potential issues before they become failures. Complete a variety of interior and exterior painting projects throughout the resort including surface preparation, priming, and finish work. Respond to building and facility maintenance emergencies in a timely and effective manner. Assist with setup and breakdown of functions and special events as needed. Operate company vehicles and equipment in a safe and responsible manner. Maintain cleanliness and organization on all project sites and in department work areas. Assist other resort departments with maintenance needs as directed by the Facilities Maintenance Manager. Communicate effectively with co-workers and department leadership regarding task status, material needs, and any safety concerns. Maintain a positive, professional, and guest-friendly attitude in all resort interactions. Attend all required company and department training programs. Contribute to team effort by participating in safety meetings, job sharing, and accepting diverse assignments as operational needs require. Meet service level objectives and departmental goals as established by the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
