Hackettstown, NJ Pay:
$30-$45/hour
Schedule:
1st & 2nd Shift | 40+ hours/week Direct Hire Opportunity with Superior Skilled Trades Superior Skilled Trades is seeking experienced Maintenance Mechanics for direct hire opportunities in a food manufacturing environment in Hackettstown, NJ. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment to minimize downtime and keep operations running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on industrial production equipment. Maintain fryers, packaging/sealing machines, conveyors, motors, bearings, belts, gearboxes, and lubrication systems . Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems , including loading dock equipment. Maintain forklifts and pallet jacks. Read equipment manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to diagnose mechanical issues. Perform basic electrical troubleshooting involving motors, sensors, controls, and wiring as needed. Complete preventive maintenance documentation and respond to emergency equipment repairs. Coordinate with outside vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance. Work closely with Production and QA teams to reduce equipment downtime. Follow all plant safety, USDA, SQF, GMP, and food safety requirements . Qualifications 2+ years of industrial maintenance mechanic experience ; food, beverage, or CPG manufacturing experience preferred. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills. Experience with industrial production and packaging equipment. Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, bearings, belts, and gearboxes . Ability to read equipment manuals, diagrams, and schematics. Basic electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus. Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment. Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs.
