About the Role PureFlow Nutra is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This position is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of facility systems and high-speed packaging-line equipment. The Senior Maintenance Technician will help maintain a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for all employees and facility occupants. This role offers an opportunity to lead maintenance activities, troubleshoot complex issues, support continuous improvement initiatives, and minimize equipment downtime while upholding strict cGMP and OSHA standards. The position will collaborate closely with Production and Quality teams to support safe and efficient manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on liquid-filling, mixing, pumping, labeling, capping, conveying, and packaging equipment. Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Preventive and Predictive Maintenance:
Perform and improve preventive maintenance routines. Monitor equipment condition to prevent breakdowns and unplanned downtime.
Sanitary Systems and Changeovers:
Service sanitary piping, tri-clamp systems, pumps, valves, and liquid-transfer lines. Support line changeovers, tooling adjustments, and equipment timing setups.
Facilities Maintenance:
Maintain and repair HVAC, plumbing, lighting, basic electrical systems, warehouse racking, and other facility infrastructure. Support light construction projects and perform basic forklift maintenance.
Compliance, Quality, and Safety:
Follow cGMP, OSHA, company SOPs, and applicable 21 CFR requirements. Maintain compliance with LOTO, Arc Flash, machine-guarding, and confined-space procedures. Accurately complete maintenance records and work orders.
Leadership and Continuous Improvement:
Train and support line operators in proper equipment operation and basic autonomous maintenance. Assist with equipment installations, line relocations, factory acceptance testing, and reliability-improvement initiatives.
Parts and Vendor Coordination:
Monitor critical spare-parts inventory, submit purchase requisitions, and coordinate with vendors on parts, repairs, troubleshooting, and warranty service. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade school certification, apprenticeship completion, or an associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Systems, Mechatronics, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Three to five or more years of progressive maintenance experience in an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment, such as dietary supplements, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, or cosmetics.
- Strong mechanical expertise with pumps, gearboxes, drive systems, conveyors, timing belts, and pneumatic systems.
- Practical electrical and controls troubleshooting experience with systems up to 480V three-phase, including sensors, proximity switches, motor starters, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Basic familiarity with reading PLC ladder logic and troubleshooting input/output (I/O) faults.
- Solid understanding of sanitary liquid-processing equipment, CIP/SIP procedures, and sanitary fitting assemblies.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work on ladders and elevated platforms, stand for extended periods, and work in variable industrial temperatures.
- Ability to occasionally work weekends and outside normal business hours to support special projects or urgent maintenance needs. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with sanitary TIG welding and fabrication using 304/316 stainless steel.
- Formal certifications in electrical safety, such as
NFPA 70E
; Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) certification; or forklift-operation certification.
- Experience maintaining high-speed rotary liquid fillers and automated packaging equipment.
