Job Description

Build things. Solve problems. See your work everywhere. Do you like working with your hands and seeing a real finished result at the end of the day? Valley Signs is hiring a mechanically inclined, hands-on person to join our production and installation team in Central New York. You do not need sign-industry experience. If you have worked in construction, fabrication, carpentry, painting, installation, automotive, maintenance, or another skilled trade—and you are the kind of person who can look at a problem and figure out how to solve it—we want to talk to you. One day you may assemble and paint a custom sign in our shop. The next, you could apply vehicle graphics, install a wall wrap, or head into the field to install signage for a local business, college, or community organization.
The best part:
you will drive around Central New York and see work you helped create for years afterward. What You'll Do Install signs and graphics safely and professionally at customer locations. Assemble, prep, mask, sand, paint, finish, and package custom signage. Apply vinyl and printed graphics to signs, vehicles, and walls. Review work orders and proofs, load the correct tools and materials, and help plan efficient installations. Use ladders, scaffolding, hand tools, power tools, trailers, and—after training—rented aerial lifts. Communicate professionally with customers and solve practical problems in the field. Keep tools, hardware, vehicles, and work areas clean, organized, and ready. You May Be a Great Fit If You Take pride in craftsmanship and notice the details other people miss. Are mechanically capable and confident with tools. Can work independently after training and do not need to be chased for follow-through. Bring possible solutions when something does not go as planned. Are comfortable working outdoors, climbing ladders, and working from scaffolding. Can routinely lift 50-60 pounds and help safely handle heavier or awkward items. Show up reliably and represent the company professionally. Want to learn a specialized trade and grow into greater responsibility. Experience We Value Sign experience is preferred, but not required. Relevant backgrounds may include construction, fabrication, carpentry, commercial painting, welding, HVAC, electrical, automotive, maintenance, equipment operation, graphics installation, or other skilled trades. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required; no CDL is required. Schedule and Travel Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with reasonable flexibility. Approved overtime when a project needs to be safely finished. Most travel is within approximately 60 miles. Overnight travel is extremely rare and generally limited to training. Year-round indoor and outdoor work. Pay and Benefits $22-$30 per hour, based on relevant experience and demonstrated capability. 12 paid sick days to start and 10 paid vacation days. $250 per month medical reimbursement. 3% IRA match eligibility after 90 days. Paid holidays plus a company-wide holiday shutdown from Christmas Eve through New Year's. Paid training and a defined opportunity to grow into senior or lead installation/production responsibility.
