Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for our Dunkirk, NY client. Our client is looking to Direct Hire a Maintenance Technician. This position is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of mechanical and hydraulic equipment throughout a manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience working in industrial environments, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities Perform maintenance and repair work on mechanical and hydraulic systems throughout the facility. Install, troubleshoot, and repair pumps, boilers, piping systems, and related equipment. Inspect, repair, and maintain production equipment, including rolling mill machinery, furnaces, mechanical shears, annealing equipment, conveyors, mill stands, and mill housings. Assemble, dismantle, adjust, and align mechanical and hydraulic equipment. Perform welding, cutting, and torch work as required. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move materials, parts, and equipment safely. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Complete additional maintenance-related duties as assigned. QualificationsRequired Skills Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and hydraulic schematics. Basic welding and metal fabrication skills. Analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Experience 3 to 5 years of industrial maintenance experience. Experience working in manufacturing, steel processing, heavy industrial, or similar environments. Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Education & Training Associate degree or technical/trade school training in mechanical, electrical, or related disciplines preferred. Journeyman certification preferred. Training and experience in mechanical testing, inspection, and repair procedures. Ability to explain and troubleshoot equipment using schematics and technical documentation. Successful completion of applicable mechanical aptitude and technical skills assessments may be required. Tools & Equipment Used Drill press, power saws, portable drills, grinders, and bench tools Cutting torches and welding equipment Overhead cranes, air hoists, chain falls, and lifting devices Pipe wrenches, crowbars, sledges, hammers, and various hand tools Pressure and flow gauges Hydraulic fitting equipment and diagnostic tools Work Environment Industrial manufacturing setting. Requires working around heavy machinery and equipment. Position involves standing, walking, lifting, climbing, and operating material-handling equipment.
