Non-Exempt Job Summary The Facilities Maintenance Technician will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to perform general and preventative maintenance across all company buildings, facilities, and grounds. Primary responsibilities include building systems upkeep, light mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs, interior and exterior maintenance, and snow and ice removal. All work will be performed in accordance with Company and industry safety and quality standards.
Schedule:
Ability to work 40+ hours per week including occasional nights and weekends. Hours will vary depending on facility and production schedules.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to Work safely at all times regardless of routine or non-routine tasks. Fulfilling work orders and service requests written by the Maintenance Manager. Performing preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment including HVAC filters, compressors, lifts, lighting, and mechanical systems. Troubleshoot and repair equipment and facility failures quickly and efficiently, recording and reporting downtime or issues to the Maintenance Manager. Snow and ice removal including plowing, shoveling, salting, and sanding of parking lots, entrances, and walkways as needed. Performing light electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs including fixture replacements, pipe repairs, drywall patching, and door hardware. Performing interior and exterior building maintenance including painting, caulking, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, and general facility repairs. Coordinating with and assisting outside contractors for specialized facilities, mechanical, or grounds work as needed. Keeping accurate inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and materials; ordering replacements as needed. Maintaining accurate records of maintenance logs, completed work orders, equipment service history, and facility inspection reports. Conducting routine facility inspections to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, and equipment issues; reporting findings and taking corrective action as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or a related trade (electrical, plumbing, or carpentry). 2+ years working in a manufacturing, production, or commercial building environment. Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered. High School diploma required. Valid driver's license required. Basic computer skills; experience with work order or facilities management software a plus. Forklift experience required; certification preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with co-workers and vendors in person, by phone, or via email. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple work orders, maintain accurate maintenance records, and track equipment service schedules. Ability to identify and troubleshoot facility and equipment issues and prepare reports on maintenance activities and facility conditions.
Equipment/Machinery:
Hand and power tools, electrical test equipment, plumbing tools, pressure washers, snow plows, snow blowers, hand shovels, forklifts, lifts, and company vehicles.
Physical Exertion:
Heavy Work- Exerting 50 pounds or more of force occasionally and/or 25 pounds or more of force frequently to move objects. Work may include frequent heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of materials and equipment.
Environmental Conditions:
The frequency and duration ofindoor and outdoorwork may vary based on position, location, and operational needs. Indoor Work- Indoor environments may include exposure to temperature variations, such as unheated or non-air-conditioned areas. Outdoor Work- Outdoor work may involve exposure to weather conditions and seasonal temperature changes.
Travel:
No Regular Travel- This position does not require regular travel.
