Job Description

Come Join Our Team! The Daughters of Charity, provides a safe, welcoming home for the retired Sisters of the Daughters of Charity Ministries. Our team plays a vital role in creating an environment where Sisters feel respected, through independent living, assisted living and memory care. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician to support the daily upkeep and safety of our campus in Menands, NY. This role reports to the Facilities Director. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in their work and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience in facilities, or maintenance. Candidates must also possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. What You'll Do Perform general maintenance and basic repairs throughout the buildings, including minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting work. Assist with monitoring the operation of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems and equipment; troubleshoot issues and perform minor repairs as appropriate. Assist with and complete scheduled preventive maintenance of building systems, equipment and facilities. Perform grounds and landscape maintenance, including mowing, gardening, trimming, leaf removal and other seasonal upkeep. Perform snow and ice removal from porches, entrances, walkways and other designated areas, including application of ice melt as needed. Participate in the Facilities Department's on-call rotation. Work independently while also participating in team efforts to support departmental and organizational needs. Adapt positively and productively to changing priorities, maintenance needs and assignments. Maintain professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all times.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, some weekends and holidays required
Physical Demands:
Must be physically able to efficiently perform the duties of the position, which may involve the following: standing and walking over 2/3 of the day, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, bending, reaching, and stooping for 1/3 to 2/3 of the day. Come join us - exciting changes are in the works!
