Position Summary This position is a working leader responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and upkeep of 18 facilities across 8 counties. This role is hands-on by design —performing repairs, overseeing small construction projects, and leading by example in the field. This position balances technical skill, problem-solving, and supervision , ensuring facilities remain safe, functional, and compliant while minimizing downtime and outside contractor costs. Key Responsibilities Facilities Operations & Maintenance Oversee daily facilities operations for 16 locations, including retail, administrative, program, and warehouse sites. Respond to urgent facilities issues, coordinating after-hours and emergency repairs as needed. Conduct regular site inspections and maintain condition assessments for each location. Hands-On Maintenance & Repairs Perform routine and corrective maintenance including carpentry, drywall, painting, minor electrical, plumbing, flooring, and basic HVAC troubleshooting . Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies across all locations. Conduct regular site walkthroughs to identify repair needs and safety concerns. Execute small remodels and build-outs (walls, doors, fixtures, shelving, signage, etc.). Construction & Project Support (Hands-On) Lead and perform small construction and renovation projects in-house where feasible. Coordinate larger projects with contractors while remaining actively involved on-site. Review scopes of work to ensure quality, safety, and cost control. Verify completed work meets organizational standards before sign-off. Preventive Maintenance & Asset Care Implement and follow preventive maintenance schedules for building systems and equipment. Track recurring issues and recommend permanent fixes rather than repeat repairs. Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies. Vendor Coordination (Field-Focused) Coordinate and oversee outside vendors for specialized trades when required. Monitor vendor work on-site to ensure safety, quality, and timeliness. Assist with obtaining quotes and recommending vendor selection based on cost and performance. Safety & Compliance Identify and correct safety hazards in real time. Support compliance with OSHA, fire, health, and accessibility requirements. Partner with site leadership to ensure facilities meet operational and safety standards. Documentation & Communication Document work performed, materials used, and follow-up needs. Communicate clearly with site leaders regarding timelines and expectations. Escalate major repair or capital needs to leadership with practical recommendations.

Qualifications:

5+ years of hands-on maintenance or construction experience Demonstrated ability to perform general building repairs independently Experience supporting multiple sites or large facilities Strong working knowledge of tools, materials, and job site safety Valid driver's license and ability to travel between locations

• Must pass a Goodwill-approved criminal background check and not appear on any government registries that track abusers or other such offenses.

Education and or Experience:

• High school diploma or GED

• Minimum 3 years in maintenance-related positions preferred Exposure to typical maintenance and construction environments

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stoop, bend, reach over your head, climb a ladder and lift 50 pounds.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Current state drivers' license, proof of current auto insurance coverage, and reliable transportation required. Ability to maintain coverage under the company insurance policy for liability, bond ability, and other required coverages.
