On the road / GHC Living properties in the Shaker Heights area Join the GHC Living Team GHC Living is seeking a dependable, skilled Maintenance Technician to support our residential communities in the Shaker Heights, Ohio area. Our maintenance team plays an important role in creating safe, clean, and well-cared-for communities for our residents. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in solving problems, and can confidently handle a variety of maintenance needs. HVAC experience is a plus, but candidates with strong general maintenance skills are encouraged to apply. What You'll Do Complete routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance throughout residential properties. Respond promptly and professionally to resident maintenance requests and work orders. Diagnose and complete repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, appliances, and general maintenance. Troubleshoot and complete minor HVAC repairs when qualified. Prepare apartments for new residents by completing repairs, maintenance, and general upkeep. Help maintain property grounds, common areas, and building systems. Follow GHC Living safety procedures and property standards. Accurately document completed work orders. Identify larger repair needs and communicate them promptly to management. Provide courteous, professional service when interacting with residents, coworkers, and vendors. What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED required. Previous apartment, facilities, building, or general maintenance experience preferred. Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair. HVAC experience or certification is a plus, but not required. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple assignments independently. Dependable, responsive, and committed to completing quality work. Strong communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position.
Candidates must be able to:
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Climb ladders and stairs. Bend, kneel, reach, and perform other physical maintenance tasks. Work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions. Travel between assigned GHC Living properties as needed.
