MTS Maintenance Technician Description
  • The Measurement and Technology Solutions (MTS) VMACS group supporting worldwide thermal ink jet platform development, applications and algorithms for print and image quality evaluation, reliability tools for incubation projects, and electrical solutions is adding a maintenance technician role in Corvallis, OR.
The
MTS VMACS
group develops test beds, end of line testers, reliability testers, image capture solutions, and electrical mechanical components for print and none print businesses. We are looking for an experienced maintenance technician who is comfortable working in an R D environment supporting existing tools and the design and assembly of new tools.
Core job description:
Tool & Equipment Maintenance Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on MTS test tools per maintenance manuals and SOPs Maintain tool subsystems including: Electrical systems (wiring, sensors, controls) Pneumatics (air supply, valves, actuators) Motion systems (motors, conveyors, mechanical assemblies) Verify tool readiness after maintenance activities (functional checks, diagnostics) Diagnose equipment failures using system logs, alarms, HMI interfaces, schematics, wiring diagrams, and tooling documentation Isolate root cause (hardware, wiring, mechanical, or process interface) Perform repair actions or escalate to complex issues to MTS engineering Work with lab users to enable their testing relaying required upgrades back to engineering Tool Development and Assembly Open 2D and 3D CAD for assembly instructions Provide feedback to engineering on assembly steps in order to improve assembly drawings and designs Low voltage DC wiring Assembly of mechanical electrical fixtures Assembly of plumbing Preventative Maintenance Perform scheduled PM tasks per defined maintenance intervals Inspect wear components and replace proactively Validate system calibration and operational tolerances Track PM completion status and identify recurring failure patterns Safety Follow all equipment safety procedures defined in MTS manuals Ensure proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) and safe work practices Identify and report safety risks or abnormal system conditions Complete required safety training before performing maintenance tasks
Desired Qualifications:
Understanding of:
Electrical systems and wiring diagrams Mechanical assemblies and motion systems Pneumatic systems and controls Ability to read and interpret: Schematics and maintenance manuals Equipment layouts and system documentation Experience with diagnostic tools and test equipment Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills Ability to work under production time pressure (uptime critical) Attention to detail and adherence to procedures The pay range for this position is $29 to $43 USD per hour (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
