Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE
This position performs work in a variety of trades at the sub-journeyman level, which are associated with the maintaining of Authority buildings and grounds proper condition.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Performs routine maintenance including cleaning and refinishing of all areas of a building and its environs.
  • Performs routine removal, repair and/or replacement of curtains, drapes, rods, windows, lights, screens, fans, bulbs and tile.
  • Performs routine cutting and trimming of grounds and plantings.
  • Performs routine maintenance and snow removal of walkways and environs.
  • Performs minor repairs and replacement of building appurtenances, finishes and hardware.
  • Provides assistance to mechanics in the performance of their work on major projects including, but not limited to, the installation of new plumbing or electrical equipment in a building and any related work as required.
  • Provides preventative maintenance and repairs to existing equipment in a building that requires a combination of duties in plumbing, electrical and/or carpentry.
  • Performs minor appliance repairs.
  • Completes vacant unit turnovers.
  • Communicates with tenants and contractors throughout the day regarding problems, repairs and complaints.
  • Orders and delivers parts and supplies to job sites.
  • Makes duplicates for replacement of lost or defective keys; changes locks in vacancies.
  • Responsible for all equipment issued to perform their duties.
  • Maintains daily record of work performed, supplies and equipment used and time spent on each project.
  • Provides on call after hours coverage.
  • Winter maintenance/snow removal Performs other related duties as required/assigned.
Pay:
$36,427.00 - $52,819.00 per year
