Job Description

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is required to perform most types of mechanical and electrical maintenance of shop equipment and facility. This includes the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair most types of equipment and machines used in the shop.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform regular preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on machines, equipment, and shop facilities to eliminate down time and ensure production goals. Basic facility maintenance including housekeeping, plumbing and other general repairs. Must have basic skills using power and hand tools. Must have knowledge of PLC's electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems Must have previous experience troubleshooting the above systems. Ability to follow directions and work as a team or individual. Comply with OSHA regulations and internal safety rules. Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders. Maintain a clean and safe working area, on and off the shop floor. Ability to operate forklift, crane, and other shop equipment as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience. Electrical - 120v minimum; prefer up to 3 phase 480v; AC and/or DC experience. Minimum of 1-year professional repair experience or equivalent certification. Experience with formal safety programs. Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct supervision
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED and 2 years manufacturing or equivalent experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for entire length of an 8+ hour shift. Bending, reaching, and climbing of steps ladders. Visual acuity sufficient to see and distinguish machines / tools and operate machines and tools. Environmental working conditions. Majority of time spent in a shop setting where temperature can be warmer or colder, (subject to climate fluctuations). May also be exposed to outdoor environment (subject to climate fluctuations). Must have valid driver's license to commute between local shops. (within 15-mile radius).
