Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Fence Installer and bring outdoor spaces to life with expertly crafted fences! In this energetic role, you'll be responsible for installing a variety of fencing types, ensuring safety, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Your hands-on skills and attention to detail will help transform properties, enhance privacy, and boost curb appeal. This paid position offers the opportunity to work outdoors on engaging construction projects while honing your craftsmanship and technical expertise. Responsibilities Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fence installation.
Site preparation:
Clear the designated fence line of rocks, brush or old fencing.Layout & Measurement:
Measure and mark sites precisely to align with project specifications. Mark reference points, measure perimeters, and ensure the fence layout meets local building codes and property lines.Post Installation:
Dig postholes using manual tools or power augers, ensure vertical alignment using plumb bobs or spirit levels, and set posts using poured concrete.Assembly:
Cut materials, attach rails, and install pickets, panels or stretched wire. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment and masonry techniques to assemble and install fences efficiently.Gate Construction:
Assemble, hang and secure gates, including installing latches and locks. Handle construction materials safely, including heavy lifting of fencing panels, posts, concrete forms and landscape materials. Perform concrete finishing tasks such as setting posts in concrete and ensuring level installation for stability. Follow safety protocols rigorously to maintain a secure work environment on construction sites. Collaborate with team members to complete fence construction projects on time and to high standards of quality. Maintain a clean work area, manage construction site materials responsibly, and ensure proper handling of all tools and equipment. Interact professionally with clients during installation visits to address questions or concerns about the project.Repair and maintenance:
Inspect existing fences, replace damaged sections and perform routine maintenance. Skills Strong carpentry and frame carpentry skills with experience in building material installation. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical drawings accurately. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and masonry techniques relevant to fence installation. Outdoor work experience with knowledge of landscape maintenance and hardscape elements is a plus. Physical strength for heavy lifting, assembly tasks, concrete forming, and landscape setup. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients during projects. Knowledge of safety protocols related to construction site work, power tool safety, and construction material handling. Experience in interpreting technical drawings for fencing layouts or related construction projects is highly desirable.
