Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician (3rd Shift) Job Description This Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician role focuses on maintaining and repairing industrial equipment and facilities in a wire extrusion plant, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems, PLCs, motor controls, and mechanical troubleshooting. The position is on 3rd shift and includes an initial 45 week training period on day shift. You will support continuous production operations, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure safe, reliable operation of machinery, including equipment associated with copper rod manufacturing and furnace operations. Responsibilities Maintain industrial machinery and equipment to support continuous production operations in the facility. Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of electrical and mechanical production equipment in the wire mill. Diagnose and repair PLC-based control systems, making component adjustments and replacements as needed. Troubleshoot motors, motor controls, and electronic systems to identify issues and perform necessary repairs. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance procedures on equipment and systems. Maintain accurate records, computer files, and documentation related to maintenance activities, and update procedures as required. Collaborate with production teams to schedule preventative maintenance and equipment repairs to minimize downtime. Report completed work, findings, and recommendations to the Maintenance Supervisor and Production teams. Assist with safety compliance inspections and help maintain operating certificates, including boiler and pressure vessel certificates. Analyze equipment failures, determine root causes, and implement effective adjustments and repairs to prevent recurrence. Perform skilled maintenance and repair work on facilities, buildings, and grounds to ensure they meet company standards. Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs) to support troubleshooting and repairs. Work with 120/240/480 VAC single-phase and multi-phase electrical systems safely and effectively. Apply appropriate safety practices and procedures and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations. Maintain spare parts inventory, organize storage areas, and ensure parts are ordered in a timely manner to support maintenance needs. Communicate clearly and professionally with fellow employees and vendors, both verbally and in writing. Understand and interpret complex written and oral instructions to carry out maintenance tasks accurately. Utilize experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motor controls to diagnose and resolve equipment issues. Essential Skills 35 years of experience in electro-mechanical maintenance, including both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. High school diploma or GED. Education and training beyond high school in general maintenance and repair. Strong experience in industrial maintenance, including electrical systems, PLCs, motor controls, and mechanical troubleshooting. Ability to troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and related components. Solid background working with 120/240/480 VAC single-phase and multi-phase electrical systems. Hands-on experience with VFDs and motor controls. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Lancaster, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72800.00

  • $93600.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
