Join our team of Life Changers! UPMC is hiring a Full-time, General Maintenance-Multi-Craft Technician to support the hospital in Lititz. You will need to provide your own hand tools, UPMC will provide power tools and specialty tools. In this role, you'll handle a variety of tasks each day. Instead of working in just one trade, you'll support multiple trades based on the department's needs. If you have completed trade school or have experience in one trade and you're eager to learn and grow your skills in others, this position could be a great fit for you! Schedule is Sunday-Friday-morning 10:30pm-7:00am (Night Shift) Final candidate will be hired within the career ladder based on their education and experience. Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance work and tasks as directed with minimal supervision. Perform specific preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment Exhibit a basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry/hardware, mechanical equipment and facilities systems. Maintain a clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas. Maintain all written logs pertaining to shift responsibilities, i.e., med gas, equipment room rounds, etc. Maintain water chemistry and testing procedures on equipment and building systems. Operate and maintain a variety of building's direct digital control (DDC) systems. Order materials as needed. Perform all work following infection control procedures. Perform minor carpentry and painting work. Record work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis. Minor repairs and maintaining of plumbing fixtures, piping systems, plumbing leaks (soldering), defective pipes and clogged drains. Performs general cleaning duties on equipment and in mechanical support areas. Performs required maintenance, repair and inspection of beds. Ability to perform snow removal activities and work in adverse weather conditions. Performs other duties as assigned. Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
