Non-Exempt Summary Maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Develop a solid foundation of mechanical and operational expertise with production equipment. a. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions b. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments c. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments d. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs e. Develop ability to perform a mold change and run-in a project to start the production run f. Develop processing proficiency in HDPE extrusion blow molding and PET reheat and stretch blow molding g. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations 2. Develop working knowledge of Quality Control a. Develop full understanding of measurable testing for meeting product specifications 3. Support daily operational and sanitation needs on the production floor. a. Occasional assistance with raw materials for production, (requires forklift training and certification) b. Demonstrate safety in all aspects of job Food Safety Responsibilities 1. Ensure bottles or preforms handled by maintenance staff are discarded to avoid the potential of packing contaminated product 2. Ensure work area is clean and free of contaminants after repairing or adjusting a machine Supervisory Responsibilities This job will have no supervisory responsibilities. - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Manufacturing background desirable, but not mandatory. Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings and manuals, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
