Description This position is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment, systems, and facilities to ensure continuous and safe plant operations. This role supports production goals by minimizing downtime and ensuring equipment operates efficiently.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including lockout/tagout procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe handling of tools and equipment.
Diagnose and repair malfunctions in mechanical systems, including motors, pumps, conveyors, control systems, wiring, and other industrial equipment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning and longevity of equipment, such as lubrication, cleaning, inspections, and adjustments.
Install new equipment and machinery, including electrical wiring, control panels, conduit, and mechanical components. Assist with facility upgrades and modifications as needed.
Respond to maintenance requests from production departments in a timely manner.
Ensure all maintenance work complies with OSHA and company safety policies.
Assist with general building maintenance including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and facility infrastructure
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety. Suggest and implement solutions to recurring problems.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections within the CMMS program. Order necessary parts when needed.
Collaborate with other maintenance personnel, production teams, and supervisors to ensure efficient operations and minimize downtime.
Coordinate contractor work as needed or assigned by leadership.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends or on-call, as needed.
Other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED
Maintenance Trade specific degree or certification or equivalent work experience
2+ years of industrial maintenance or mechanical experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools and maintenance practices
General machine maintenance troubleshooting skills
Experience with printing, packaging, or converting equipment is a plus
Familiarity with industrial manufacturing codes such as NEC
Knowledge of safe work practices as outlined by
NFPA 70E
