Job Description

Job Summary Baymont Inn & Suites in Sturgis is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to help maintain the quality and standards our guests expect. This position is essential to daily operations and plays a key role in protecting the property, maintaining our strong reputation, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. We are looking for someone who can troubleshoot issues independently, take pride in their work, and communicate professionally with both guests and team members. Responsibilities are Take pride in maintaining the hotel's exterior appearance, ensuring grounds, landscaping, weed control, lighting and snow removal reflect the standards of an award-winning property Troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues (including PTAC units) Repair drywall, paint, and minor carpentry Maintain water heaters, water softener, and mechanical systems Complete preventative maintenance inspections and schedules Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies Interact courteously and professionally with guests and coworkers Clearly communicate repair timelines or follow-up needs to guests, front desk staff and management Maintain organized tools, supplies, and maintenance logs Qualifications Previous maintenance experience preferred (hotel experience a plus) Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems Basic carpentry skills, including drywall patching, painting, trim repair, door alignment, and minor structural repairs Professional and respectful communication skills Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks Must be able to lift 50 lbs and use ladders Flexible availability, including some weekends

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
