Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Technician to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining the building's interior and exterior, troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems. Your expertise will help create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and staff. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in a dynamic hospitality setting, ensuring all facilities operate efficiently and meet safety standards. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, building interior elements, and facilities equipment to prevent issues before they arise. Repair or replace electrical equipment using schematics, hand tools, electrical work techniques, and troubleshooting tools such as ohmmeters. Conduct plumbing system maintenance and repair, including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing fixtures to ensure optimal operation. Maintain HVAC systems by diagnosing issues, replacing filters, repairing compressors or fans, and ensuring energy-efficient operation. Execute carpentry tasks such as repairing doors, windows, furniture, or drywall to uphold building interior standards. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automated system troubleshooting when applicable. Lead maintenance painting projects to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the hotel's interior spaces. Use schematics and technical manuals to diagnose problems accurately; interpret wiring diagrams for electrical repairs. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used in MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) logs. Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks efficiently while providing excellent customer service to guests and staff. Follow safety protocols diligently during all maintenance procedures to ensure a secure environment for everyone on-site. Experience Proven experience in facilities maintenance or building operations within a hospitality or commercial environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in electrical work, plumbing repair, HVAC system maintenance, carpentry, welding, and painting. Familiarity with electrical equipment repair using tools like hand tools and ohmmeters; ability to read schematics confidently. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Excellent communication skills in English; capable of understanding technical manuals and schematics clearly. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to guide junior team members when needed. Knowledge of maintenance procedures related to residential painting and facilities equipment upkeep is advantageous.
