Personnel Placements is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for a manufacturing facility in Milan, TN. The Maintenance Technician will work under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.

Important:

The selected candidate must be available to work 1st shift for training for up to one month. Once training is successfully completed, the employee will transition to the 2nd-shift schedule. Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests to help minimize production downtime.
• Assist with installation, setup, relocation, and modification of machinery and equipment.
• Perform general facility maintenance and repairs, including doors, lighting, fixtures, and other building systems.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment.
• Assist with welding, fabrication, and other repair projects as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
• Communicate equipment issues, needed repairs, and parts requirements to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor and other maintenance team members with daily maintenance needs and special projects.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned. Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 2+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• General knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with manufacturing machinery, conveyors, motors, pumps, and other industrial equipment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs and electrical controls preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics preferred.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Willingness to learn new equipment, systems, and maintenance procedures.
• Must be able to successfully complete required 1st-shift training for up to 30 days before transitioning to 2nd shift. Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Work is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, dust, varying temperatures, and other typical industrial conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend, kneel, climb, reach, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to safely work around operating machinery.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• May occasionally require working at heights or in confined areas as needed to perform maintenance duties.

Pay & Schedule $20.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience 2nd Shift - Regular schedule established based on facility and production needs.

Training Requirement:

New hires must be available to work 1st shift for up to 30 days for training before transitioning to the regular 2nd-shift schedule. Overtime, extended hours, weekends, or schedule changes may occasionally be required based on production needs or equipment breakdowns. BR2
