GENERAL SUMMARY

To perform semi-skilled to skilled facility maintenance work and operate a variety of equipment in the maintenance of plumbing and electrical operations, repair, and upkeep of the City facilities, greenways, roadways, and sidewalks.

SUPERVISION

Under the general direction of the Parks Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Adhere and comply with the City of Mt. Juliet Policy and Procedures Manual. 2. Follow all Safety Policies and wear appropriate Personal Protective equipment as necessary. 3. Visual and physical inspection and upkeep of City property and facilities. 4. Electrical, Plumbing, painting, trimming of brush and mowing when necessary 5. Participate in a variety of facilities maintenance duties such as replacement of banner poles, flags and planters throughout the City. 6. Any and all other duties may be deemed necessary as need. 7. Operate a variety of tools and equipment including power tools, lawn mowers, trucks, small & light duty equipment; perform general maintenance duties. 8. Insure proper maintenance and cleaning of equipment and tools. 9. Performs routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment as necessary and refers defects or needed repairs to the appropriate department. 10. Participate in the coordination, set up, and tear down of special event activities with the ability to lift at least 75 pounds, frequently. 11. Frequently, drive City golf cart and gators up and down City sidewalks picking up and disposing of litter. 12. Participate in the installation, maintenance and repair of other facility needs. 13. Must be comfortable being pulled off one job to address another as needed. Multi-tasking.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.

Ensure the adherence to safe work practice and procedures. 2. Perform special projects as assigned. 3. Maintain work, time and material records. 4. Perform other duties as assigned. 5. Take the initiative of need maintenance or cleaning, i.e. city vehicles that need attention.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION

• High School diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

• Power tools, mowers and other landscaping tools.
• Light electrical and Plumbing

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

• Possession of valid Tennesseedriver's license

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES KNOWLEDGE OF

• Care, operation and maintenance of a variety of power tools, light and heavy-duty equipment. Some electrical and plumbing, general maintenance Skills.
• Record keeping of equipment and maintenance records.
• Safe work practices.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:

• Communicating with and instructing others Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities that may include the following: Climbing stairs/ladders Sitting, walking or standing for extended periods of time.

Operating assigned equipment. Performing manual tasks for extended periods of time and in unfavorable weather conditions. Exposure to air contaminants, noise, vibration, and temperature extremes.

• Walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods of time
• Bending, kneeling, crawling, stretching and constantly climbing in and out of truck beds. Extended periods of time walking up and down hills picking up trash.
• Be able to drive City vehicles and or City Equipment
• Frequently lift, move, carry and push/pull objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
