The Maintenance Technician B performs minor repairs and improvements across a variety of trades under the direction of a group leader or supervisor, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines and plant facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities
• Operate overhead cranes with light and heavy loads; operate forklifts (certified by Safety)
• Perform electrical repairs such as receptacles, lighting, fuses, coils, and heater circuits
• Use meters and amp clamps to check electrical circuits
• Maintain departmental 5-S, safety requirements, and required paperwork

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• 2-3 years of on-the-job experience
• Considerable knowledge of electrical/mechanical methods, materials, tools, and practices
• Ability to work from sketches and prints
• General knowledge of computer software and maintenance work order systems
