This role is the senior-level maintenance position at the site and ensures all equipment is safe, functional, and operating at maximum efficiency. The Maintenance III contributes directly to safe operations, production uptime, and regulatory compliance by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and completing complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic tasks. This position requires expert technical skills, strong problem-solving ability, and the capability to work independently with minimal supervision. Role Overview & Responsibilities Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for all facility and equipment maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and system upgrades.
Responsibilities include:
Equipment Maintenance & Repair Perform all preventive maintenance and repairs on facility and production equipment, including (but not limited to): SMETCO machinery Palmatic equipment Forklifts and yard trucks Compressors Pneumatic and vacuum systems Hydraulic systems Electrical systems Production tools (nail guns, screw guns, electric motors, etc.) HVAC (heating and air conditioning) Lighting and facility infrastructure Install, troubleshoot, and remove equipment as needed. Safety, Compliance & Documentation Maintain all logs related to machinery, equipment, forklifts, and required inspections. Ensure that all forklift drivers are certified and that certifications remain current. Ensure all forklift maintenance logs and machine logs are accurate and up to date. Enforce compliance with all safety policies, environmental regulations, and company procedures. Inventory & Facility Support Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts and critical components. Support facility upkeep, building maintenance, and grounds maintenance as required. Provide technical guidance and assist with training less experienced maintenance personnel.
