Performs entry-level transportation related work installing, repairing, and maintaining traffic signs, mailboxes, and delineators in a district. Work includes maintaining inventory and records of signs and materials and using specialized tools and equipment related to sign installation. Employees at this level perform assignments following specific instructions and standard practices and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor.
Essential Duties:
Assists transportation maintenance crews with maintenance-related work as required; may respond to assist with emergencysituations/conditions.

Moves equipment, tools, materials, and productsMaintains expense records and inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment.

Mixes and places concrete for sign support foundations; moves cement bags and other items related to these dutiesOperates a boom and bucket truck and/or specialized sign truck to install roadway signs.

Performs and maintains inventory of signs.

Performs preventative maintenance on sign truck.

Repairs and installs signs, supports, foundations and delineators in accordance with Manual on Uniform Traffic ControlDevices (MUTCD) and other departmental guidance.

Performs other job responsibilities as assigned
