The Maintenance Technician at Spa Castle Urban Resort is a hands-on professional responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our 140,000 sq. ft. wellness facility. This position performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections of the property's building systems and water-based amenities while helping provide an exceptional guest experience. The Maintenance Technician works with hydrotherapy pools, water filtration systems, pumps, plumbing, HVAC, electrical equipment, fire and life safety systems, and other critical infrastructure. The position also assists with inspections, preventive maintenance programs, and facility improvements while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment for guests and team members. Key Responsibilities Operations & Maintenance Perform daily inspections and maintenance of hydrotherapy pools, saunas, lounges, spa treatment rooms, fitness areas, and all guest facilities. Conduct regular water chemistry testing and assist with maintaining proper chemical balance and sanitation standards. Inspect, maintain, and repair pool filtration systems, circulation pumps, plumbing, valves, and related equipment. Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, lighting, doors, locks, and other building equipment. Perform general carpentry, painting, drywall, and other facility repairs as needed. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs to minimize operational downtime. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe mechanical room and maintenance workshop. Preventive Maintenance & Compliance Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pool equipment. Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair logs, and water chemistry documentation. Assist in preparing equipment and facilities for inspections by health departments, fire inspectors, insurance companies, and other regulatory agencies. Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and company policies. Report equipment deficiencies and recommend repairs or replacements before failures occur. Teamwork & Guest Service Work closely with management and other departments to ensure facility readiness and guest satisfaction. Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors during repair and maintenance projects. Assist with facility setup for special events and operational needs. Maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly service when interacting with guests. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of commercial maintenance experience preferred. Experience with commercial pools, pumps, water filtration systems, and plumbing strongly preferred. Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical equipment, and general building maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform repairs independently. Basic computer skills for completing maintenance logs and work orders. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., climb ladders, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks. Ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and respond to emergency maintenance calls when required. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification is preferred or must be obtained after hire. EPA Section 608 HVAC certification is a plus. Bilingual Korean/English is preferred but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to inspect mechanical rooms, rooftops, and pool/spa facilities. Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies as needed. Work Environment On-site presence required; flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or during emergencies or inspections.
