SUMMARY:
Our Maintenance Technician is responsible for general repair and maintenance of the equipment and machinery within our shop and steel yard.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and repairs on engines, motors, pneumatic and hydraulic machinery, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and air powered equipment to determine flaws.
Cleans and maintains tools and equipment used for machine maintenance.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Occasional overnight travel.
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in manufacturing/fabrication shop is preferred but not required.
Mechanical and electrical experience is preferred but not required.
Electronic and automation controls preferred but not required.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Acute attention to detail.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player.
Follow safety procedures including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods of time.
Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs regularly and up to 75lbs occasionally with assistance.
Frequent use of hands and arms to handle materials, tools, and welding equipment and machines.
Ability to kneel, crouch, climb, or work in awkward positions to complete work.
Visual acuity to read measurements, inspect welds, and maintain quality standards.
Use of ladders or lifts.
Exposure to welding fumes, bright light (arc flash), heat, sparks, and airborne particles.
Everyday use of PPE including flame-resistant clothing, welding helmet, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety-toe boots.
