Perform various facilities maintenance activities.
Job Description Key Accountabilities:
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and similar problems on machinery/equipment and perform timely repairs on all equipment.
- Establish appropriate frequency and perform regular preventive maintenance activities on all machinery/equipment in the facility.
- Perform timely facility/building maintenance and minor repairs and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Dismantle defective machines/equipment and install new or repaired equipment.
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and repairs.
- Coordinate and make recommendations on work-related contracts and services.
- Supervise outside contractors when needed for mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance.
- Participate, support, and comply with all health, safety, quality, and Lean initiatives and requirements.
- Complete all job duties in a manner that does not put him/herself or other individuals in an unsafe situation and wear all PPE (personal protective equipment) when required.
- Assist in any duties to support the operations, as requested by supervisor or manager.
- This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Demonstrate mechanical and technical aptitude
- 3-5 years experience in an industrial, maintenance environment
- HS Diploma or GED/Technical degree or certification in a related field required.
- Formal degree or certificate in a technical area or related field required
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
- Little or no supervisor assistance is required
- Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to read and write English and perform basic math problems
- Basic computer knowledge to complete data entry
- Ability to use basic measurement instruments such as tape measure, scales, and gauges
- Obtain and maintain current certification to operate material handling equipment such as, forklift, side-loader, 4-directional lift, or cherry picker
