Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Septic Maintenance Technician, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of septic systems and water infrastructure. This energetic position involves performing routine inspections, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of septic tanks, water systems, and underground utilities. Your expertise will help maintain safe, efficient, and reliable sanitation services for our clients. We value proactive problem-solving and a strong safety mindset to keep projects moving forward with confidence. Duties Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on septic tanks, water systems, and underground pipeline networks. Operate heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and bucket operation tools to access and repair underground utilities. Perform mechanical repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools to ensure optimal system performance. Splice fiber optic cables and handle low voltage and high voltage electrical systems following safety protocols. Climb ladders and utilize climbing techniques to access elevated or hard-to-reach areas safely during maintenance tasks. Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities; ensure compliance with safety standards at all times. Respond to on-call emergencies involving water systems or underground utilities to minimize downtime and service disruptions. Skills Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and bucket operation tools. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO). Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and power tools for various repair tasks. Experience working outdoors in construction sites or utility environments with underground utilities or pipeline systems. Knowledge of fiber splicing techniques along with low voltage and high voltage electrical systems. Valid commercial truck driving license with experience in construction site logistics preferred. Familiarity with safety standards related to heavy equipment operation, climbing procedures, ladder use, and underground utility work. Ability to work independently or as part of a team during scheduled shifts or on an on-call basis to support 24/7 operations.
