Job Description

Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of residential apartment communities. Your expertise in mechanical systems, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and facilities maintenance will ensure residents enjoy a comfortable and well-maintained living environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills while delivering exceptional customer service to residents and team members alike. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical equipment, and building interior components to ensure optimal operation. Troubleshoot and repair issues related to electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, and mechanical equipment using schematics, hand tools, and testing devices such as ohmmeters. Conduct repairs involving welding, carpentry, painting (including residential painting), and facilities equipment maintenance to uphold building standards. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, schematics updates, and inspection reports. Respond promptly to resident repair requests with professionalism and a focus on customer satisfaction. Use programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical experience to troubleshoot complex building automation systems when necessary. Lead small maintenance projects or assist in larger renovations while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. Qualifications Proven experience in residential or commercial maintenance with knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and facilities maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience with hand tools, electrical equipment repair, welding, and plumbing system maintenance. Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and the use of testing devices such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret blueprints or schematics related to building interior maintenance and electrical systems. Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish for effective interaction with residents and team members. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
