Job Description
Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our plastics packaging manufacturing team in Centralia! The ideal candidate will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment and packaging lines. This role focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe, efficient production through mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on injection molding, extrusion and packaging machinery to ensure reliable production.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including motors, gearboxes, pumps, valves, cylinders and drives.
Diagnose and resolve issues with packaging equipment (case packers, cartoners, conveyors, stretch wrappers) to minimize downtime and maintain throughput targets.
Perform routine inspections, adjust assemblies, replace worn components and verify machine alignment and calibration.
Install, align and test new equipment and upgrades; assist with commissioning and validation activities.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, complete work orders and update spare parts inventory to support efficient repairs.
Collaborate with production, engineering and safety teams to identify root causes and implement continuous improvement initiatives and preventive actions.
Follow all safety procedures and participate in lockout/tagout, confined space and other required safety programs.
QualificationsMinimum 1 year of hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing with plastics or food/consumer packaged goods (CPG) preferred.
Proven skills in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair; experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems required.
Experience with packaging machinery (case packers, cartoners, conveyors, palletizers) strongly preferred.
Strong hand-tool and precision-measuring tool skills; welding, brazing or fabrication experience a plus.
Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 10/30, electrical, hydraulics/pneumatics, forklift) are a plus.
