PORT MADISON ENTERPRISES RETAIL
Maintenance Technician I General Position Summary:
Performs duties as directed to include the preparation, planting, and maintenance of flowerbeds and lawn areas. Also includes planting and care of trees, shrubs, and flowering plants.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Plants, fertilizes, and applies herbicides and fungicides as needed Trims, edges, and waters shrubs, trees, flowering plants of all retail areas Weeds, cleans out plants, and tends to all flowerbeds Removes dead or diseased plants and trees from property after consulting with management Keeps garden and lawn areas clean and well maintained Maintains appearance of curbs, poles and fuel pumps Cleans and maintains retail site floors and other areas as necessary Maintenance and general repair of garden equipment used during shift or at a minimum brings equipment repairs to management's attention
Secondary Functions:
Assists with general parking lot clean up in an effort to maintain curb appeal Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of retail site interiors Performs other duties as assigned during shift
Specific Job Skills:
Ability to use hand and garden tools, safely and efficiently Knowledge of the proper use of insecticides and fertilizers and other toxic materials Knowledge of landscaping techniques and plant diseases Able to perform general ground maintenance tasks in an efficient manner Other duties as assigned Education and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Demonstrated landscaping/gardening and maintenance experience are required. Must possess a valid WA State Drivers License and be able to successfully obtain a
PME Employee Parking Permit Job Conditions:
Working conditions include working outside, and in inclement weather condition, for long periods of time. Climbing (use of ladders both inside and outside), lifting, bending, stooping and crawling into difficult workspaces. Other conditions include working alone, frequent interruptions, evenings and/or weekends.
Physical Requirements:
Manual and finger dexterity for the operation of hand and garden tools and various maintenance/cleaning equipment. Ability to stand for extended periods of time and to lift 75 lbs
