Maintenance Technician - Hampton Inn DeForest The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel's facilities, equipment, guest rooms, and pool area to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and team members. As part of the opening team for the new Hampton Inn DeForest, this position will play a vital role in protecting the hotel's assets, maintaining Hilton brand standards, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. Key ResponsibilitiesPreventative Maintenance Perform routine preventative maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, mechanical systems, and hotel equipment. Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance tasks according to established schedules. Inspect building systems and equipment to identify and address potential issues before they impact operations. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and logs. Assist with seasonal maintenance, winterization, and weather-related preparations. Pool & Water Feature Maintenance Monitor and maintain the indoor swimming pool to ensure a clean, safe, and inviting environment for guests. Perform daily pool testing and record chemical readings in accordance with local health department regulations and company policies. Maintain proper chemical balance, water quality, and filtration systems. Inspect pool equipment, pumps, filters, heaters, and safety systems to ensure proper operation. Respond promptly to pool-related maintenance issues and coordinate repairs with approved vendors when necessary. Maintain all required pool logs and documentation. Ensure pool decks, furniture, and surrounding areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained. Assist with health department inspections and ensure compliance with all state, local, and Hilton safety standards related to pool operations. General Repairs Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel team members. Perform repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, drywall, flooring, lighting, locks, and other building systems. Troubleshoot equipment and facility issues and implement effective solutions. Assist with guest room renovations, deep cleaning projects, and property improvement initiatives. Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when specialized repairs are required. Property Appearance & Grounds Maintain the overall appearance and condition of the hotel, including exterior areas, parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, and landscaping. Ensure public spaces and back-of-house areas are clean, organized, safe, and in good repair. Assist with snow removal, ice control, and grounds maintenance as needed. Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure the property remains in excellent condition. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards, company policies, OSHA regulations, and all applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Maintain proper storage and handling of tools, chemicals, and equipment. Conduct regular safety inspections and promptly address hazards. Assist with emergency response procedures, life safety systems, and building security measures. Support hotel initiatives related to energy conservation and sustainability. Teamwork & Guest Service Provide friendly and professional service when interacting with guests. Work closely with Housekeeping and Front Desk teams to ensure guest rooms are maintained and available for occupancy. Support all departments as needed to achieve operational goals and guest satisfaction targets. Participate in the hotel's opening activities, training, and ongoing operational initiatives. Qualifications Previous hotel maintenance experience preferred. Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance. Pool operator certification preferred or ability to obtain certification within a designated timeframe. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Basic computer skills and ability to complete work orders and maintenance logs. Valid driver's license preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing ladders, standing, pushing, pulling, and working in various weather conditions.
