Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team in a high-paced food manufacturing facility. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment and systems while upholding food safety, sanitation, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive approach to preventive maintenance, and experience working in food or beverage manufacturing environments. Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance on production machinery, packaging equipment, conveyors, HVAC systems, and facility infrastructure. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules. Conduct inspections and maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and maintenance logs. Collaborate with production, sanitation, and quality assurance teams to ensure equipment readiness and compliance with food safety standards. Assist in installation, testing, and commissioning new equipment and upgrades. Follow and enforce GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), safety policies, and standard operating procedures. Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Support audits and inspections by regulatory agencies and internal quality teams. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree in a related field preferred. 2+ years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or related industrial environment. Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of industrial machinery, electrical systems, PLCs, and pneumatics. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Basic computer skills and ability to maintain maintenance records. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
