Job Description
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of our facilities and equipment. This is a vital role in our organization, as you will play a key part in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Scope and Purpose:
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Tech repairs, maintains and makes parts and tools for production machinery, ensures the maximum machine up-time in support of manufacturing activities, and performs building maintenance and repairs.Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility:
- Troubleshoot and repair any production machinery to ensure maximum machine uptime in support of production activities
- Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties; make repairs or adjustments as needed
- Repair machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments to involve dismantling, inspection, machining or replacement of purchased parts
- Diagnose alarms and repair breakdowns
- Make parts or tools as required
- Perform various activities relative to the installation and relocation of existing machines and equipment to involve dismantling, erection, leveling, fitting, and aligning operations
- Perform maintenance on the building, facilities and the grounds
- Assist to determine the nature and scope of projects and the requirements for completion
- Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and machinery; perform preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation and air conditioning units
- Develop and maintain required maintenance logs and files
- Submit requests for additional parts and supplies
- Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures
- Comply with all quality, safety, and sanitation regulations
- Other tasks as assigned
Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced ability to read and understand design blueprints
- Previous experience with industrial electrical knowledge, pneumatics and controls, hydraulics and controls, and various welding applications
- Ability to read and draft electrical schematics
- Responsible and self-motivated
