We are seeking an experienced Lead Replacement Window & Door Installer who takes pride in delivering exceptional workmanship while providing leadership, mentoring team members, and ensuring successful project execution. Position Overview The Lead Replacement Window & Door Installer is responsible for professionally installing replacement windows, entry doors, patio doors, and related exterior products in residential and light commercial properties. In addition to performing advanced installation work, the Lead Installer serves as the on-site team leader, overseeing installation crews, training and mentoring installers, coordinating jobsite activities, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. The ideal candidate possesses advanced carpentry and installation skills, strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to manage jobsite operations and develop team members. ResponsibilitiesInstallation & Project Execution Remove existing windows and doors while minimizing damage to surrounding finishes and structures. Verify measurements, job specifications, and product details before installation. Install replacement windows, entry doors, patio doors, and related products according to manufacturer specifications and company standards. Properly shim, fasten, insulate, seal, and weatherproof installed products. Complete interior and exterior trim work as needed. Wrap windows, doors, fascia, and other exterior components with aluminum coil stock. Troubleshoot framing, structural, and installation-related issues. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and jobsite equipment. Load, unload, transport, and protect materials and equipment. Complete required photographs, job documentation, and project reports. Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, manufacturer specifications, and local building codes. Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition. Leadership & Team Management Lead and supervise installation crews to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards. Coordinate daily jobsite activities, workflow, and resource allocation. Mentor, train, and develop apprentice and junior installers to improve technical skills and installation quality. Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and support to team members. Promote a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment. Ensure adherence to company policies, safety procedures, and quality expectations. Assist management with workforce planning, scheduling, and project execution. Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for homeowners and project stakeholders. Identify opportunities to improve installation processes, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and craftsmanship excellence. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 5+ years of direct window and door installation experience. 2+ years of experience leading, supervising, or mentoring installation crews. Strong understanding of construction methods, building materials, and installation techniques. Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and personnel development skills. Ability to effectively train and mentor installers at varying levels of experience. Strong project coordination and organizational abilities. Ability to read and interpret measurements, work orders, installation instructions, and basic construction drawings.
Experience with:
Window and door installation House wrap and window wrap systems Flashing and weatherproofing Caulking and sealing Aluminum trim and coil wrapping Proficiency with hand and power tools, including saws, grinders, oscillating tools, and other carpentry equipment. Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record. Reliable transportation to and from company facilities. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and lead a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, and customer service skills. Authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Management, Project Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field. 7+ years of residential replacement window and door installation experience. 3+ years of crew leadership, supervisory, or field management experience. 2+ years of finish carpentry experience. Manufacturer certifications for windows and doors. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills. Proven track record of successfully leading high-quality residential remodeling projects. Experience managing multiple crews, projects, or field operations. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform physical work throughout the day. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Comfortable working at heights on ladders, scaffolding, pump jacks, and roofs. Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods. Schedule & TravelSchedule Monday-Friday Typical hours: 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM Overtime available during peak seasons Travel Daily travel to jobsites throughout Southeastern Wisconsin and the Greater Milwaukee area. Overnight travel is not usual but sometimes required. Tools & Equipment Company vehicles, major equipment, and specialty installation tools provided by the company. $32.00 - $40.00 per hour
