Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician with strong on-the-job troubleshooting abilities and extensive commercial maintenance experience to perform work at our clients' commercial business locations throughout Wisconsin. Strong general commercial facilities maintenance & HVAC experience is required. Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, work on a ladder when needed throughout the workday and perform overhead work. The Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician should be able to independently troubleshoot and complete a wide range of maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair tasks. Key Responsibilities Electrical
  • Must be experienced in replacing light bulbs and ballasts; rewiring light fixtures to accept LED bulbs; replacing outlets, wall switches and motion-style wall switches; replacing metal halide bulbs and ballasts; removing and replacing ceiling can-style light fixtures; replacing outdoor photo eyes for outdoor lighting; troubleshooting basic electrical issues; and using/operating a lift. Plumbing
  • Must be experienced in removing toilets and replacing wax rings; installing replacement toilets; using a commercial toilet snake; changing Sloan flush valve internal parts; replacing toilet tanks, interior tank parts and Flushmate valves; replacing water shutoff valves and faucets; removing and replacing water heater units; unclogging sinks and floor drains; and working with PVC and copper.
Carpentry
  • Must have strong basic carpentry skills including, but not limited to, performing minor door repairs; door closure adjustments and replacements; door hardware replacement; threshold and door sweep replacement; caulking; carpet tile, ceramic tile and grout repairs; basic drywall repairs; interior and exterior painting; paint color matching; and repair of handicap auto door opener/closure buttons.
HVAC
  • Strong commercial HVAC experience is required.
Must be able to troubleshoot and perform general repairs and preventive maintenance on a variety of commercial HVAC equipment including package units, rooftop units, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, split systems, furnaces, fan coil units, PIU/FVAV boxes, unit heaters, mini-splits, PTAC units, air curtains, HVAC pumps, exhaust fans, air compressors/dryers and related equipment. Must be able to perform scheduled quarterly, semi-annual and annual preventive maintenance including filter replacement, equipment inspections, cleaning, lubrication, belt and bearing inspections, electrical and control checks, motor amperage checks, thermostat and safety control testing, heating and cooling system checks and identification of equipment deficiencies. Equipment Inspections & Documentation
  • Must be able to complete preventive maintenance inspections, document equipment condition and maintenance performed, record applicable readings and communicate recommended repairs or replacement needs to the appropriate J&P team member or client contact. Troubleshooting & General Maintenance
  • Must be able to independently identify, troubleshoot and resolve a variety of commercial building maintenance issues. The ability to assess a problem, determine the appropriate repair and complete the work safely and efficiently is essential. Must be able to recognize potential maintenance concerns and communicate recommended repairs or solutions. Certifications & Trade Experience
  • Certification in a skilled trade such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry or a related building trade is strongly preferred.
Applicants with current trade licenses, certifications or other recognized industry credentials are encouraged to apply. EPA 608 certification is preferred.
OSHA 30/OSHA 60
certification is a plus. Additional certifications or specialized training relevant to commercial facilities maintenance are also preferred. Other Duties
  • Must be willing to assist other departments within the company when needed and provide support and guidance to other team members as appropriate.
This individual will work independently at our clients' locations and will at times work with other team members. Regular light travel throughout Wisconsin is required, and occasional overnight stays are required. Ability to reliably commute to Jackson, WI is required. Weekday daytime hours, Monday through Friday. Clean driving record required. Must have a high school diploma. Five or more years of commercial facilities maintenance experience with strong commercial HVAC experience is preferred. Trade certification, applicable licensing and/or EPA 608 certification is strongly preferred. College coursework in the building maintenance field and/or a trades certification or degree is a plus.
OSHA 30/OSHA 60
certification is a plus. Must agree to and pass a full background check. Competitive wages paid every other week. Work uniform is required.
