Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Meter Reader to join our team. The Meter Reader will be responsible for accurately reading and recording utility meters, ensuring that all data is collected efficiently and effectively. This role requires a strong understanding of field service operations, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work independently in various outdoor environments. Responsibilities Conduct regular readings of utility meters to ensure accurate data collection. Utilize hand tools and power tools for meter maintenance and repair as needed. Perform utility locating tasks to identify underground utilities prior to excavation. Operate equipment such as voltmeters and bucket trucks safely and effectively. Maintain accurate records of readings and report any discrepancies or issues. Assist in equipment repair and maintenance tasks as necessary. Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols. Help fixing water/sewer leaks and repairs Qualifications Previous experience in field service or utility operations is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Familiarity with cabling, low voltage systems, and utility locating techniques. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and voltmeters. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a high level of safety. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.
