A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.
Monday - Friday, with occasional on-call after hours and weekends Position Overview Wind River Apartments is seeking a dependable and hardworking Part-Time Property Maintenance Technician to help maintain our apartment community. This position is responsible for completing general repairs, preparing vacant apartments for new residents, responding to maintenance requests, and helping keep the property safe, clean, and well maintained. The ideal candidate is reliable, able to work independently, and comfortable performing a variety of routine maintenance and property upkeep tasks. Responsibilities Complete general maintenance and repair work in apartments and common areas Respond to resident maintenance requests in a professional and timely manner Prepare vacant apartments for new residents, including minor repairs, cleaning, touch-up painting, and fixture replacement Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and appliance repairs Inspect the property and report maintenance or safety concerns Help maintain the grounds, walkways, common areas, and building exteriors Assist with seasonal duties, including snow and ice removal Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies Communicate clearly with property management regarding completed work and needed repairs Follow established safety procedures and property policies Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned Qualifications Previous apartment, building, construction, or general maintenance experience is preferred Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and appliance repair Ability to troubleshoot common maintenance problems Dependable transportation and consistent attendance Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks efficiently Professional and respectful communication skills Ability to safely lift and carry maintenance equipment and supplies Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Benefits Sick time begins accruing after 90 days of employment Consistent part-time schedule of approximately 25 hours per week
