Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of low-voltage systems, including telecommunications, data cabling, security, and audio-visual systems. Your expertise will ensure that our clients' communication and security infrastructure operates seamlessly and efficiently. Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain low-voltage systems such as CCTV cameras, fiber optic networks, VoIP telephony, Ethernet wiring, and structured cabling. Read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and network layouts to ensure precise system installation and troubleshooting. Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic systems installation to establish reliable high-speed data connections. Conduct network wiring and equipment troubleshooting using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and telecommunication testing equipment. Support field service operations by diagnosing issues with telecommunications systems, Unifi routers, and other networking hardware. Terminate cables including Cat5, Cat6, and other structured cabling types; ensure proper cable management and adherence to safety standards. Test radio frequency (RF) signals, perform LAN testing, and verify communication system performance for optimal operation. Skills Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet, LANs (Local Area Networks), and network installation procedures. Experience with Access Control and Alarm systems. Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting fiber optic systems with fiber splicing expertise. Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and wiring diagrams accurately for system setup or repair tasks. Skilled in using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters, telecommunication testing equipment, power tools, hand tools, and other relevant equipment for system diagnostics and repairs. Familiarity with AC/DC electrical systems as they relate to low-voltage wiring projects. Knowledge of structured cabling installation including cable termination techniques for Cat5e/Cat6 cables. Experience with communication system installation such as security cameras (CCTV), access control systems, intercoms, and audio-visual setups. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
