Job Description

Field Technician Work Location:
Wilmington, DE Field Technicians for M.E. Simpson Co. typically work 8- to 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday. This position requires extensive travel throughout the United States to support projects in various locations. The role involves outdoor work in all weather conditions and terrain, performing physical labor, operating hand tools, and utilizing specialized equipment. Candidates should be comfortable with frequent travel and overnight stays as required by project demands. Strong leadership, communication skills, and a willingness to learn can lead to excellent career growth opportunities within the company.
Knowledge:
Working knowledge of proportional math (decimals, fractions, percentages) Experience with water distribution or pipe installations preferred but not required. Experience in a field / service capacity with a water utility, contractor or equivalent is a plus General knowledge of operations and controls for distribution and collections operations for water distribution systems General knowledge of safe working practices and procedures including confined space and traffic control Familiarity with Computers and tablet PC's (Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook) Familiarity with Asset Management/Field Data Collection/GPS is a plus Possession of a Water Operator's License in Delaware, New Jersey or Maryland is a plus

Abilities:
Work in small groups (2 to 4 person) Work well with others Work under stress Walk 6-10 miles a day Standing 8-10 hours a day Ability to occasionally work overtime Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and machinery Ability to drive a truck while towing an equipment trailer Ability to manually exercise, turn, operate and repair water valves and hydrants without the need of hydraulic or electrical torque equipment M.E. The candidate will need to be certified in Confined Space Entry and Flagger Certification for traffic control or able to obtain these certifications. First Aid training is also preferred including CPR. Training will be provided during probationary period A valid driver's license and clean driving record is a must.
