In this role, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting a wide range of telecommunications and data systems across various client sites. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of complex network and communication systems, including fiber optic systems, structured cabling, CCTV, and VoIP solutions. Responsibilities Install and configure telecommunications systems including fiber optic cabling, Ethernet networks, Cat5/Cat6 cabling, and structured wiring in accordance with schematics and industry standards Perform fiber splicing, cable termination, and testing to ensure optimal signal integrity and system performance Troubleshoot equipment issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, telecommunication testing equipment, and network analyzers Conduct site surveys to assess existing infrastructure and determine the best installation practices for low-voltage electrical wiring and communication systems Set up and test networking hardware including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, switches, and Avaya communication systems to ensure reliable connectivity Install CCTV cameras, radio frequency (RF) testing equipment, VoIP phones, and other telecommunication devices with precision Maintain detailed documentation of installation processes, schematics interpretations, network configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference Experience Proven experience as a service technician or installer in telecommunications or IT environments with a focus on data center or network installation projects Hands-on experience with fiber optic systems installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet wiring standards (Cat5/Cat6), LAN setup, Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, and VoIP systems Familiarity with electrical systems such as AC/DC power supplies, low-voltage electrical wiring (NEC compliant), and electrical troubleshooting using diagnostic tools Prior work involving structured cabling installation using hand tools and power tools in commercial or industrial settings Ability to interpret schematics accurately and follow technical diagrams for complex system setups Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients at all levels Join us if you're passionate about advancing your career in telecommunications technology!
