We are growing our team and are seeking a Field Technician with hands-on experience in gate operator systems , access control , and supporting infrastructure. This is an active, outdoor, field-based role (approximately 75-85% outdoors). You will install and service gate entry equipment, access control hardware, and related network components, as well as lead small crews during on-site deployment. Key Responsibilities Install, program, and service gate operator systems (swing, slide, and barrier arm), including photo eyes, safety loops, limit settings, and mechanical adjustments. Install and commission access control systems (readers, strikes, maglocks, REX, door controllers, entry kiosks). Perform CCTV camera installation and basic VMS setup when required. Run, terminate, and test structured cabling (Cat6, coax, fiber) according to standards. Read and work from site plans, wiring diagrams, and project scopes. Diagnose electrical, relay, and communication issues across gates, locks, and controllers. Provide end-user and guard staff training upon system completion. Complete service reports, equipment logs, and documentation with accuracy. Skills & Qualifications Proven experience working with gate operators , access control systems , or equivalent low-voltage service environments. Strong mechanical aptitude (chains, gears, motors, hinges, alignment). Solid understanding of low-voltage electrical fundamentals : power supplies, relays, dry contacts, and safety circuits. Ability to use multimeters, toners, network testers, and hand/power tools safely and confidently. Experience reading wiring diagrams and layout drawings. Capable of working independently or leading a small crew on customer sites. Strong communication and customer service skills. Requirements Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record. Ability to pass background and drug screening. Ability to lift 70+ lbs, work on ladders, roofs, and in outdoor heat/humidity. Comfortable working around moving gate equipment and performing mechanical adjustments. Preferred Experience (Not Required but Strong Plus) Gate operator certifications (LiftMaster, Viking, HySecurity, Doorking, etc.) Experience with access platforms such as PDK, ZUUL, ButterflyMX, DoorBird, CAPXL/Techna , or similar. Basic network knowledge (PoE, static IP assignment, switch patching).
