Full-Time Mega Locksmith & Security is a well-established locksmith and security company serving the greater Chicagoland area. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced full-time CCTV, access control, and low-voltage technician to join our team. We are looking for a skilled, dependable technician who takes pride in their work, understands modern security systems, and can independently troubleshoot, install, program, and service low-voltage security equipment. Specific attention will be paid to candidates with strong hands-on experience with: IP and analog CCTV camera systems NVR and DVR installation and programming Access control systems Intercom and video intercom systems Telephone entry systems Card readers and keypads Electric strikes and magnetic locks Low-voltage wiring Troubleshooting existing security systems What We're Looking For Minimum 2 years of professional low-voltage/security installation experience Strong experience installing and programming CCTV and access control systems Experience installing and servicing intercom and telephone entry systems Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot IP cameras, NVRs, DVRs, and related equipment Understanding of computer networks, IP addresses, routers, switches, modems, and PoE Ability to troubleshoot wiring, hardware, software, and network-related issues Ability to run, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling Ability to read technical manuals and work with manufacturer technical support when necessary Ability to work independently and complete jobs efficiently Professional appearance and strong customer service skills Dependable, punctual, organized, and self-motivated Ability to prepare clear and detailed job notes, estimates, and invoices Clean driving record Ability to pass required pre-employment screening What We Offer Starting salary of $62,000 per year, based on experience Full-time, year-round work Company vehicle provided — gas and maintenance covered 401K Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid training on new products, systems, and technology Opportunities for career growth and advancement Team-oriented work environment About the Position This is a hands-on field position throughout the Chicagoland area. The technician will be responsible for installing, programming, servicing, and troubleshooting CCTV, access control, intercom, and other low-voltage security systems at residential, commercial, and multi-unit properties. We are specifically looking for someone who is comfortable arriving at a job site, diagnosing the issue, determining the proper solution, and completing the necessary installation or repair. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with both security hardware and networking. You should understand how cameras, NVRs, access control panels, readers, intercoms, network switches, routers, and other connected devices work together. Quality workmanship is extremely important. Installations should be clean, organized, properly terminated, labeled, programmed, tested, and demonstrated to the customer before leaving the job site.
