Cable Assembly Technician /

Small Parts Assembler Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and hands-on Cable Assembly Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, terminating, and assembling standard wiring harnesses and thermocouple assemblies. This entry-to-mid-level position is ideal for someone with excellent manual dexterity, high attention to detail, and a strong work ethic who thrives in a focused work environment.

Key Responsibilities Cable Assembly & Termination:

Prepare and attach Anderson or Phoenix-style connectors onto 4-wire cables according to strict quality standards.

Thermocouple Wiring:

Precision wire and assemble Type T thermocouple connectors onto designated wiring.

Tool Operation:

Utilize hand tools, wire strippers, mechanical/hydraulic crimpers, screwdrivers, and soldering tools efficiently and safely.

Quality Control:

Visually inspect completed wire harnesses and connections for defects, proper mechanical retention, and correct polarity/pin placement.

Routine Benchwork:

Perform repetitive, detailed mechanical assembly tasks at a seated workbench throughout the shift.

Workspace Maintenance:

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation (5S principles).

Required Qualifications & Skills High Manual Dexterity:

Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills necessary for handling small components, pins, terminals, and precision tools.

Background:

Experience in cable harness fabrication, electronic assembly, jewelry making, craft work, model building, or other fine-detail manual trades is highly desirable.

Focus & Stamina:

Ability to sit for extended periods and perform highly repetitive tasks without sacrificing quality or accuracy.

Positive, professional attitude with a reliable work ethic and a collaborative mindset. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with wire stripping, terminal crimping, or mechanical fastening. Ability to read basic assembly schematics, wiring diagrams, or work instructions. Physical Requirements Ability to sit at an assembly bench for up to 8 hours per day. Ability to handle small metal and plastic parts continuously using fingers and hands. Good visual acuity for close-up assembly tasks.
